About This Station
WDR 3 is Westdeutscher Rundfunk's cultural radio channel, broadcasting classical music, jazz, and world music from Cologne. Strong focus on new music, contemporary composers, and the Cologne new-music scene alongside the standard classical repertoire. The station has historic connections to Karlheinz Stockhausen and the electronic music studio at WDR, which pioneered elektronische Musik in the 1950s.
